• George practiced dentistry in Florence AL and was a Public Health dentist in Pike County KY.

• He served as a dental missionary in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China from 1964 to 1975, where he rode a motorcycle into the mountains to extract teeth for the aborigines, taught Oral Medicine at Kaohsiung Medical College, and worked in an Episcopal dental clinic. He was a member of the Order: Ecumenical, a mainly Protestant ecumenical third order of families which was involved in congregational and community redevelopment.

• He served as an installed or interim pastor in Presbyterian churches in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, New York and New Jersey; and at St. Paul's UCC in Nutley, NJ.

• He is a member of Monmouth Presbytery, Presbyterian Church, USA
